BRSC was established in 2003 with the purpose of maintaining the cultural identity of the Russian speaking population in Barnsley and promoting cultural values shared by Russian speaking people in Barnsley.

BRSC Aims:

  • To successfully integrate its members in the UK by helping them overcome social and cultural barriers.
  • BRSC welcomes immigrants from the former Soviet Union for whom the Russian language was and probably remains the main means of communication and links with the shared cultural heritage.

Taste of Cultural Diversity 2006
A Taste of Culture Diversity Festival event held in Barnsley on 15th October 2006. It’s a social event with Live Music, Dance and creative workshop as well as giving you the chance to taste food from the many different cultures that now call Barnsley home.

3rd Anniversary of the Russian Speaking
The Barnsley Russian Speaking Community [BRSC] celebrated  its 3rd Anniversary on 1st October 2006.

Community September 2006
Community September 2006, was held at Barnsley Town Hall and was a chance to discover more about Barnsley’s Russian Speaking Community.

2nd Anniversary of the Russian Speaking Community
The Barnsley Russian Speaking Community [BRSC] celebrated  its 2nd Birthday on 1st October 2005.

Taste of Culture Diversity 2005
BRSC participated in this one day event "Taste of Culture Diversity Festival" in September 2005 at the Barnsley Town Hall. We had a stall which displayed pictures/ books to introduce Russian culture to the Barnsley public.
